Separated for Your Ways

Gospel Protocol · written by Thomas Perry Jr.

Your voice became my kingdom
Defeated my self-built throne
You led me to a place
Isolated, but not alone
All my friends said I was distant
But Your presence I was called
Obedience to preparation
Daily taking up my cross

You went before me every time
You silenced lies I unknowingly let in
Emptied me of all every single thing
Weighing my spirit down from sin

Separated for Your ways
Consecrated by Your Grace
And Mercy, in Your perfect presence
Showed me a better kind of blazed
Separated for Your ways
Consecrated by Your grace
Make me like you, Jesus
Gave me sight, never the same

Now I stand where crowds are gathered
Where not one has met you yet
But I’m no longer chasing every answer
I remember what You said
That what I thought was isolation
Was you setting forth the ground
In the midst of my transformation
Was only lost, so I’d be found

You closed doors I could not close
You silenced songs that held me still
You emptied rooms I thought I needed
So I could finally hear Your will

Separated for Your ways
Consecrated by Your grace
Not abandoned, in your presence
You are leading me through change
Separated for Your ways
Consecrated by Your grace
Jesus, all that’s left of me
Wants to worship You and praise

If You lead me further in
I will follow where You go
Because You took the worst in me
Poured out your living water flow
Every false unholy
Part of me, was instantly broken
You came to show me
Power in forgiveness

Separated for Your ways
Consecrated by Your grace
Not abandoned, Lord you are present
You are the reason I am changed
Separated for Your ways
Consecrated by Your grace
And mercy, Jesus
I will never be the same
